Secretariat participates in the Lhasa summit of the Global Digital Economy Conference 2022

The opening ceremony of the Global Digital Economy Conference 2022 was held simultaneously in Beijing and Lhasa on July 28. The Lhasa summit was themed "Digital ridge spans the Himalayas", and included an opening ceremony, theme summit and parallel forum on the digital economy. 

Chen Fahu, director of the Institute of the Tibetan Plateau Research (ITP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Li Xin, director of the National Tibetan Plateau Data Center (TPDC), and Nie Xiaowei, director of the secretariat of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum, attended the summit and delivered speeches.

At the opening ceremony, Chen introduced the ITP and announced the release of scientific data on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Nie said that the Greater Bay Area Science Forum pushes forward construction of the Guangdong-Hong kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Center by strengthening international communication and cooperation, building a high-quality think tank, attracting international top talents and projects, improving the brand image of the forum and better serving development of the nation's science and technology. Nie hoped that the Greater Bay Area Science Forum will enhance cooperation with the Tibet autonomous region and push forward regional major strategies and digital and technological cooperation in countries and regions involved in Belt and Road Initiative and build a digital community with a shared future for mankind.
