Greater Bay Area Science Forum promotion in Zhuhai

The members of the Secretariat of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum conducted an "Into Zhuhai" activity in Zhuhai, Guangdong province from August 16 to 17. They surveyed the national key laboratory of energy saving of air-conditioning equipment and system operation, the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology, the Zhuhai Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau and the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute. 

At the national key laboratory of energy saving of air-conditioning equipment and system operation, the members of the Secretariat visited the compressor technology research department, the air conditioning system research department and its experimental center and Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. and its plant, deepening their understanding of the innovative research achievements in the application basis and common technology in the air conditioning field. 

At the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology, the members of the Secretariat met with Zhang Xu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to discuss cutting-edge fields of technology and intelligent information technology. 

At the Zhuhai Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, the members of the Secretariat met with deputy director-general Dai Ge, achieving a consensus on joint scientific and technological innovation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao regarding construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Center. 

At the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute, its deputy president Wang Chunming introduced the achievements and goals of the University of Macau in talent communication, technological innovation and industry-university-research cooperation. Both sides said they were willing to cooperate in the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements and adopt a new model of industry-university-research cooperation and talent introduction in the future. 

This activity was the fifth stop of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum's promotion. The Secretariat will further enhance the cooperation and exchanges on technological innovation and development in the Greater Bay Area city cluster and the role of the forum in promoting industrial development, displaying the strength of the Greater Bay area in building a new ecology of industry-university-research integration.
