Leung said the forum, as the highest-level scientific event in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will contribute to international science and technology innovation and the development of emerging industries in the Greater Bay Area.
The forum will promote in-depth and frequent scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, help Nansha with high-quality "inviting in" and "going out", and promote long-term prosperity of Hong Kong.
Bai said the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness, the strongest economic vitality, innovation and development in China.
"We must seize the opportunity to develop the Greater Bay Area Science Forum into a high-level exchange platform for scientists, scientific organizations and all sectors of society to exchange views on global scientific development and cooperation through collaboration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," Bai added.
