Zhang Xiang
Zhang Xiang is an optoelectronics scientist, an academician of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States and a foreign academician with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also an academician with Academia Sinica, the 16th president of the University of Hong Kong, a former chair professor of the Ernest Shiu-Jen Kuh Foundationand former director of the Center for Nanoscience and Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
The nano invisibility cloak invented by Zhang in 2008 was listed as one of the top 10 scientific discoveries in the world by the Times magazine of the United States.
Zhang has focused hisresearch on nano science and technology, material physics, photonics and biotechnology.
