Ren Nanqi
Ren Nanqi is an expert of urban water environments, a professor and doctoral mentor of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), a member of the standing committee of the HIT's Party committee, vice-president of the HIT, director of the State Key Laboratory of Urban Resources and Environment, and an academician of the workstation of Taiyuan Runmin Environmental Protection and Energy Saving Co., LTD.
Ren Nanqi was admitted to Harbin University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (HUCEA) and received his bachelor's and master's degrees successively; in 1984, he graduated with a master's degree and worked in the university as a teaching assistant and lecturer; from 1993 to 1996, he served as the deputy director of the department of municipal administration and environmental engineering; in 1994, he received a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the HUCEA, and later he engaged in postdoctoral research work in the Institute of Engineering Mechanics of the China Earthquake Administration. From 1996 to 1999, he served as an assistant to the president of the HUCEA; in 1998, he was selected into the first and second levels of the national "Millions of Talents Plan"; in1999, he served as the vice-president of HUCEA; from 2000 to 2009, he served as the dean of the school of municipal administration and environmental engineering of the HIT; in 2001, he was subsidized by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars; and in 2009 he was selected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Ren has long been engaging in research of the measures of urban water resources and water environment improvement and sewage biological treatment processes, technology and equipment.
