Yu Quan

Yu Quan is a researcher of the System Engineering Research Institute of the Academy of Military Sciences and director of the Key Laboratory of Information System Security. 

He is also the honorary dean of the School of Cyberspace Security of Southeast University and the School of Communication Engineering of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, chief scientist of the Marine Communication Research Center of the Qingdao National Laboratory of Marine Science and Technology, a professor of Beijing University of Technology, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University and Fudan University, and the leader of the steering expert group of the NSFC's major program "Basic Theory and Key Technology of Spatial Information Network". In addition, he is Editor in Chief of Journal of Communication and Information Networks, Vice Chairman of the China Command and Control Society, and Vice Chairman of the China Electronics Society.

As an academic leader in the field of tactical communication in China, he presided over the development of the first software radio station, the first generation of tactical communication network shared by the three armies, and the first-generation short wave integrated communication network. In recent years, his academic interests are mainly in interdisciplinary fields such as "wireless heterogeneous networks like brain neurons" and "network security defenses like biological immunity". 

In 1997, he was awarded as a "National Excellent Scientific and Technological Worker", in 1999, he was given the "Outstanding Youth Award for Seeking Truth from the Chinese Association for Science and Technology"; in 2006, he was awarded the "Ninth China Youth Science and Technology Award", and in 2008, he was given the "Model Medal of the May 4th Chinese Youth Award". In 2010, he was awarded the "Science and Technology Progress Award" by the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, and in 2018, he received the Chinese Government Publishing Award. He has won one first prize and one second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Awards, and four first prizes and two second prizes of the Military Science and Technology Progress Awards. He holds nine national invention patents and has published eight academic monographs and more than 20 SCI papers.

In 2009, he was elected as an academician member of the CAE.
