Tang Benzhong

Tang Benzhong is a polymer chemist, an academician of CAS and the World Academy of Sciences, chair professor of the Department of Chemistry of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and dean of the School of Science and Engeering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).

In 2002, he won the financial assistance from the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. In 2013, he was selected as a member of the Royal Chemical Society, and in 2015 he served as the director of the National Engineering Technology Research Center in Hong Kong. In 2017, he won the first prize of the National Natural Science Award and the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.

Tang is mainly engaged in the research on Polymer Synthesis Methodology, Advanced Functional Materials and the Aggregation Induced Luminescence (AIE) Phenomenon.
