Yu Shaohua
Yu Shaohua, born in 1962 in Wuhan, Hubei province, is an information and communication network technology expert, chief engineer of China Information Communication Technology Group Co., Ltd., director of the State Key Laboratory of Optical Fiber Communication Technology and Network, a member of the Discipline Evaluation Group (Information and Communication Engineering) of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of the National Science and Technology Progress Award Evaluation Committee, an expert of the National Sixth Generation Mobile Communication (6G) Technology R&D Overall Expert Group, and chairman of the Digital China Industry Development Alliance.
In 2015, he was elected as an academician of the CAE Member. He is one of the pioneers in the integration of China's telecommunications SDH (synchronous digital system) transmission network and the country's Internet (including Ethernet).
He has been engaged in the research of optical fiber communication and network technology for a long time, and has presided over and completed more than ten national projects, achieved market transformation of his work and created a large number of applications.
