Xu Tao

Xu Tao is a cell biophysicist, an academician of CAS and the World Academy of Sciences, director of the Frontier Science and Education Bureau of CAS, professor and doctoral supervisor of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and dean of the College of Biomedical Engineering, Guangzhou Medical University.

In 2000, he served as the vice president of the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry of the School of Life Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2003, he was selected into the Hundred Talents Program of CAS and worked in the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and in 2007 he served as the director of the Institute of Biophysics, CAS, and the director of the National Key Laboratory of Biomacromolecules. In 2015, he was elected as the Vice President of the 12th All-China Youth Federation.

Xu is mainly engaged in islets of langerhans β research on cell function and cell biophysical technology.
