ANSO BIDI School forum opens on December 12

In order to promote scientific exchanges and cooperation among countries along the the Belt and Road, the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) BIDI School forum is about to open at 19:00 on December 12, 2022 (Beijing time) online. It is co-organized by ANSO BIDI, the Science Center of Lingshan of Guangdong Province, and the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Luiz Davidovich, an optical theorist, director of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an academician of the World Academy of Sciences, and a foreign academician of the National Academy of Sciences, will make a report at the forum.

Leaders from the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the ANSO Secretariat and the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS), the TWAS Young Affiliates Network, Tribhuvan University, the Brazilian Academy and other international organizations along the the Belt and Road will attend the opening ceremony of the ANSO BIDI School forum and deliver speeches.

The ANSO-BIDI Institute Network partners with international organizations such as the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) and multiple universities and institutions. The chair partners with Politecnico di Milano in Italy, which will ensure the collaboration has a European perspective. Furthermore, with the University of Toronto’s RiskLab as a partner, it will also be ensured that the internationalization of the chair will include the North American perspective. The chair also partners with The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in Thailand, the University of Donja Gorica (UDG) in Montenegro, the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) in Pakistan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NASRA) in Armenia and Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh. Collaboration with these institutions will be strengthened so as to continuously contribute to the proposed project.

Through exchanges and interactions among the trainees of BIDI School, the interconnection of science and technology innovation in leading countries is expected to be promoted. The forum is also designed to increase consensus on sustainable development within the B&R area, increase mutual understanding and form a long-term training and exchange mechanism. By sharing advanced concepts of sustainable development and leadership capacity and undertaking international diversified exchanges and interactions during the training, the event hopes to promote in-depth development of scientific and technological cooperation and increase the influence of the Belt and Road Initiative.
