GSF and Silk Road Academician Forum meet for cooperation
The Secretariat of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum (GSF) met on Dec 15 with a team from the Silk Road Academician Forum led by Gui Hao, deputy secretary-general of the CPC Urumqi Municipal Committee and director of the Urumqi Municipal Development and Reform Commission and Lu Xiaohong, chairman of Huahao Culture and Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. and director of the Digital Economy Research Institute in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The two sides said that 2023, as the 10th anniversary of the the Belt and Road initiative, is a crucial year. The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Central Asia are important core economic regions along the Belt and Road, while Guangzhou is an estuary of the Maritime Silk Road. Promoting cooperation between them is an effective guarantee for building a complete Belt and Road, they said.
The GSF and the Silk Road Academician Forum can work together as an exchange and cooperation mechanism by combining think tanks, integrating resources, and investment promotion. The two sides are willing to jointly hold meetings and activities, establish a regular online and offline meeting mechanism, and promote the development of the two forums.
