Greater Bay Area Science Forum 2023

Preliminary Agenda

In response to President Xi Jinping's call for scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement during his recent inspection tour in Guangdong, and his expectations expressed in a congratulatory letter to the first Greater Bay Area Science Forum (GSF), the GSF 2023 is scheduled to take place on May 20-23 in Nansha, Guangzhou. Initiated by the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) and hosted by Guangdong Provincial People's Government, the event is also in line with the requirements set out in Guangdong High-Quality Development Conference and specific work arrangements by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government.

Under the theme of Bring Together Wisdom, Bring Together The World, the forum this year will focus on a wide range of key topics including sci-tech innovation in the Greater Bay Area, artificial intelligence, nanoscience and technology, high-energy physics, bio-medicine and health, information and communications, high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, regional coordinated development, marine science, green development and dual carbon goals, international scientific partnerships and technological commercialization. Public figures, international organization representatives, top scientists, young researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as financiers from across the world, will be invited to explore together hot issues in the domain of science and technology. Based in the Greater Bay Area, integrated with Hong Kong and Macao and oriented towards the world, the forum is committed to building a high-level platform for sharing achievements, exchanging ideas and forging consensus in the field of science and technology, for the purpose of driving the high-quality development of the area through scientific innovations and  collaborations and nurturing a world-class hub for talent. By uniting forces from various stakeholders to bring scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement to a higher level, the forum is designed to create the high ground for sci-tech innovation and to make the Greater Bay Area a magnet for best scientists from all around the globe, thus contributing to the development of world science.
