Shi Guangming
Shi Guangming is an IEEE/IET fellow and vice-director of the Peng Cheng Laboratory (PCL). In 2012, he was selected as a distinguished professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program and previously served as a professor and vice-president of Xidian University. He is a fellow of the China Institute of Electronics, chairman of the Human-Computer Interaction and Virtual Reality Special Committee of the China Society of Command and Control, deputy director of the Intelligent Human-Computer Interaction Committee of the China Institute of Electronics, deputy director of the Brain Science and Artificial Intelligence Special Committee of the China Association for Artificial Intelligence, and a Teaching Excellence Award recipient in Shaanxi Province.
His research areas include AI theory and technology, computational imaging, and semantic communication. He has led national and natural science key projects and has won one national natural science second prize and three provincial-level science and technology first prizes. He has also won three second prizes for national teaching achievements.
Shi proposed the basic framework of semantic communication and the world's first semantic communication reference architecture standard, which was approved for implementation.
