Li Shipeng

Li Shipeng is an IEEE fellow and an academician of the International Eurasian Academy. He currently serves as a chair scientist at the International Digital Economy Academy (IDEA) and is director of Suzhou Saillabs.

He previously served as chief scientist and executive dean of the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS), vice-president of iFlytek Group and co-director of the iFlytek Research Institute, and deputy director of Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA). He was also editor-in-chief of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Video Technology Transactions from 2018 to 2019, and is quite influential in the fields of multimedia, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence.

Li holds 205 US patents and has published over 330 papers that have been cited over 26,732 times (H-index: 85). He was listed as one of the world's top 1,000 computer scientists by Guide2Research and has trained four winners of the MIT TR35 Innovation Award. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China and a doctorate from Lehigh University.

He is a standing director of the China Institute of Electronics, one of the initiators and co-secretaries general of the AITISA, and a part-time professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou).
