Zhou Bin

Zhou Bin is a professor at the School of Information Science and Engineering, Shandong University, and is CTO of Huawei's Ascend Computing Business. He is responsible for the overall technical architecture and core competitiveness of Ascend Computing, and continuously leads research in AI computing systems, development systems, and model applications. He has made breakthroughs in multiple key technologies and has won numerous heavyweight awards both inside and outside of Huawei.

Zhou previously served as a deep learning scientist at SenseTime and vice-president of Novumind. In 2013, he was named the 12th NVIDIA CUDA Fellow in the world. In 2022, he won the first prize of the Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Progress Award.

He has been engaged in research on heterogeneous acceleration computing for a long time and has served as a visiting and guest lecturer at academic institutions such as the University of Science and Technology of China and George Mason University.

Zhou has more than 10 domestic and foreign patents and has published over 20 papers. He has led many major scientific research projects, including the GPU version of the weather forecasting model Grapes, face detection and recognition systems, video processing systems, and artificial intelligence processor chips.
