Bi Lijun
Bi Lijun, a researcher at Guangzhou Laboratory, is the founder of the Foshan Branch of the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and TB Healthcare. She pioneered the use of systems biology and translational medicine approaches to address issues such as low tuberculosis detection rates, short vaccine protection periods, and drug tolerance. Her research has led to a series of original achievements, with more than 100 publications in SCI journals such as Nature Genetics, Science, and Cell Reports, as well as over 90 patent applications.
In 2013, Bi brought a team to Foshan to establish a biopharmaceutical industrial base and an international collaborative platform, comprehensively promoting the development of translational medicine research in China. She is acknowledged as the pioneer for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the country. She also emphasizes the cultivation of medical industry technology and industrial talent, providing feasible solutions for the sustainable development of industrial talents in the region.
Bi is the recipient of the 2021 National Model of Women's Advancement by the All-China Women's Federation and the 2018 "Ten Thousand Talents Program".
