Wang Zhenyou is a research fellow in GBA Research Institute of AIRCAS, deputy director of the 41th Department, and a pioneer in the "Hundred Talents Program" of CAS. He graduated from the Sun Yat-sen University in 2004, and received his doctorate in Physics in the University of Alberta in 2013. He worked in the University of Toronto as a Postdoc between 2013 and 2015. Wang started his industrial R&D career in the field of optical instruments in California, USA in 2015, and joined CAS in 2021. His research interest includes ultrafast imaging and spectroscopy, THz time-domain spectroscopy, THz/MIR absorption spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. He obtained a couple of U.S. patent, and published 20 papers, and got a total of >5 M USD R&D funding support. In 2018, Wang developed the first carbon isotope ratio MIR analyzer (IR2) that can be deployed in the field and measure carbon isotope ratio of various components at the same time. It was selected as the best carbon isotope analyzer by the world's largest offshore drilling company Schlumberger. In 2023, he developed the first domestic time-gated Raman spectrometer in GBA Research Institute of AIRCAS.
