Yu Shuhong

Yu Shuhong is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently the dean of the Institute of Innovative Materials at the Southern University of Science and Technology and a distinguished professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering/Chemistry. 

Yu obtained his bachelor's degree in inorganic chemistry from Hefei University of Technology in 1988, his master's degree from the Shanghai Institute of Chemical Industry in 1991, and his doctorate in inorganic chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1998. In 2002, he was selected as an outstanding overseas talent by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2003, he was funded by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. In 2010, he was appointed as chief scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China. In 2013, he was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
