Xu Jian
Xu Jian is a chemical engineering PhD and currently serves as vice-president of the University of Macau. In March 2018, Xu was appointed Chief Commercial Officer of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), and is responsible for promoting the development of Hong Kong's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, as well as the commercialization of technology.
She has actively established cooperative relationships with strategic partners in the Chinese mainland and international markets to attract high-tech companies, research institutions, and talent to develop in Hong Kong. Xu also established a collaborative network with various universities, industries, professional organizations, investors, and science and technology start-ups, including setting up collaborative incubation centers with local universities to strengthen support for knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship. Xu has played a leading role in planning the development strategy of Hong Kong Science and Technology Park in the Greater Bay Area, setting up business operations, and establishing cooperation plans. In addition, she also led the HKSTP to establish a STEM talent development support system and managed its public funding service platform to provide extensive support services for companies and other enterprises in the park.
