Cao Zhen
Cao Zhen is a researcher at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the chief scientist of the national major scientific and technological infrastructure project "Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO)". Since 2019, he has been serving as the director of the Tianfu Cosmic Ray Research Center at the Institute of High Energy Physics. He is also a recipient of the Special Allowance from the State Council of China.
Since 1994, Cao has been actively involved in the field of cosmic rays and gamma astronomy, participating in several internationally renowned experiments. He has led and designed multiple large-scale experiments and their detection devices, as well as implemented the development of related detectors.
He has published over 120 scientific papers in international professional journals, with a total citation count exceeding 5,500. Since 2007, he has been serving as an executive committee member of the High Energy Physics Branch of the Chinese Physical Society. He has also served as a member of the Commission on Particle and Astroparticle Physics (C4) of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and a member of the Particle Astrophysics International Committee (WG10).
