Luo Jianbin
Luo Jianbin is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Tsinghua University, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Luo is a tribologist and the director of the Superlubricity Engineering Center at Ji Hua Laboratory.
Luo has long been engaged in research on nanotribology and nanomanufacturing. He has received two second-class National Natural Science Awards, one second-class National Science and Technology Progress Award, one third-class National Technical Invention Award, and 12 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards. He was also the first Chinese to receive the STLE International Award, the highest honor from the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) in 2013, and the Highest Achievement Award in Tribology in China.
Luo has published over 500 SCI papers and holds more than 200 invention patents. He has delivered over 30 plenary and keynote speeches at international conferences. He serves as a member of the Executive Council of the International Tribology Council and the Executive Committee of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC). He previously served as the chair of the Technical Committee on Tribology of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) and the director of the Tribology Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. He also served as the chief scientist of two sessions of the 973 Program projects, project leader of major instrument projects, major projects, and innovation group projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has been the editor-in-chief, associate editor, or editorial board member of nine domestic and international academic journals.
