Pan Delu

Pan Delu, an expert in satellite ocean remote sensing, was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2001. He is currently a researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED) of the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources, honorary vice-president of the Chinese Society for Oceanography, leader of the National Expert Group on Ocean Informatization Technology, and a member of the International Ocean-Colour Remote Sensing Group. He is a pioneer in the development of ocean remote sensing science and technology in China, and has made important contributions in this field.

Pan was awarded the Achievement Award in Remote Sensing Science by the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers in 2002, the National Science and Technology Progress Special Award in 2003, the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize in 2013, the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Significant Contribution Award in 2015, and the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award in 2016. In addition, he has won five Special and First Prizes of the Science and Technology Progress Special Award at the provincial and ministerial level.

He has published more than 200 SCI and EI indexed papers at home and abroad.
