Introduction:

Expert in energy and environmental engineering technology. In 1993, he received a doctor's degree in chemical engineering from Nagoya University, Japan. In 1995, he was elected into One Hundred Person Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and in 2006, he was elected an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology, the chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology, full professor at Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been engaged in the research and development of the technologies on solid waste utilization as energy and resources for a long time, using a series of technologies such as physical conversion, chemical conversion, biochemical conversion, and system integration technology to achieve the high-value utilizations of energy and resource utilization of household waste and agricultural and forestry waste, and promote the recycling of retired waste and new energy source devices. He also participated in consulting and researching energy strategies and ecological civilization construction strategies. In 2008 and 2011 respectively, he won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and also received 7 Ministry and Province-Level Science and Technology Awards,and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 2012. In 2013, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
