Wang Fuming

Wang Fuming obtained his doctorate from Dalian University of Technology in 1987. In 1996, he was awarded the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund. Currently, he serves as the director of the State-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Detection and Repair Technologies of Major Infrastructure and the director of the Henan Collaborative Innovation Center for Safety Protection of Water Conservancy and Transportation Infrastructure.

Wang has long been engaged in the research of theory and technology for the safety maintenance of infrastructure. He has made systematic and innovative achievements in the prevention and control of seepage and water in basic engineering, as well as in the diagnosis and treatment of concealed diseases. His research results have been widely applied in the prevention and repair of seepage in basic engineering and emergency rescue, solving a number of major engineering problems.

Wang has been awarded a second prize of the National Technical Invention Award, a second prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and a third prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award. He has also received international awards for trenchless academic research and the Henan Provincial Award for Outstanding Contributions in Science and Technology.

In 2015, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
