2023 BRI digital earth forum highlights global collaboration

The 2023 Belt and Road Forum on Digital Earth was held in Beijing from Dec 6 to 8.

The forum brought together key figures from the domestic and international gaming industry and the scientific community. Among them, Nie Xiaowei, executive secretary-general of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum, delivered a keynote speech.

Nie proposed the theory of Ecosystem Services that aims at promoting high-quality development of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau's natural environment and contributing to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

The forum focused on digital development and the sustainable development of Belt and Road countries. It attracted scientists and government representatives from over 20 countries and regions. 

During the forum, representatives established mechanisms for cooperation to jointly promote technological innovation in digital earth science among the Belt and Road countries.
