GSF secretariat visits permanent site of Lantern Festival
On Feb 24, during the Lantern Festival, representatives of the Secretariat of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum (GSF) visited the permanent site of GSF in Nansha, Guangzhou. They extended holiday greetings to the staff of China Railway Construction Engineering Group and expressed anticipation for the high-quality completion of the project.
They stated that the completion of the forum's permanent site would further enhance the quality of the forum's organization and actively participate in the construction and operation of the site. The China Railway Construction Engineering Group has also conveyed a readiness to enhance bilateral exchanges and collaboratively advance the development of the project site.
The design concept of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum's permanent site is "Sailing the Seas of Science," covering an area of approximately 100,000 square meters, including an academic center, science museum, and other functional areas. It aims to become a hub for global scientific exchange and an interactive center for public science education. Presently, the primary structures of both the science museum and academic center have reached their maximum height, with anticipated completion slated for 2025.
Furthermore, to ensure that the permanent site meets the high-quality requirements for hosting the forum, the secretariat has conducted in-depth discussions on the construction plan of the site and invited experts from various fields to share their experiences in the operation of science venues. This collaborative effort aims to establish the Greater Bay Area Science Forum as a new landmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
