Academician Yao Tandong wins prestigious Seligman Crystal Award

The International Glaciological Society (IGS) announced the 2023 Seligman Crystal Award results on Feb 24.

The IGS has awarded Academician Yao Tandong, from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Seligman Crystal for his outstanding contributions to glacier and climate change research on the Tibetan Plateau, making him the first Chinese scientist to receive this highest honor.

This award highlights the leading position of Yao and his team in the global field of glaciology and their significant contributions to environmental protection.
