New momentum in AI industry in GBA
Exciting developments are underway in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area's AI industry. On March 3, the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality released the Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of AI Terminal Industry in Shenzhen (2025-2026).
This plan targets nine major terminal categories and outlines nine key initiatives, aiming for a trillion-dollar industry scale by 2026.
In a significant advancement, UBTECH, a leading tech innovator, conducted the world's first multi-robot, multi-scenario, multi-task human-robot collaborative training at Zeeker's 5G smart factory. The initiative explores a universal humanoid robot collective operation solution, promoting a shift from single-machine autonomy to collective intelligence.
UBTECH unveiled its innovative humanoid robot group brain network software architecture, aiming to redefine robot functions and advance manufacturing from "semi-flexible" to "fully flexible smart manufacturing."
Additionally, the Superlubricity R&D Center at Shenzhen Tsinghua University Research Institute made notable progress in core component R&D with its superlubricity technology, extending the lifespan of agile robot hands to 15,000 hours.
Shenzhen leads China with 51,100 robot-related businesses, contributing to an industry chain output of over 170 billion yuan ($23.3 billion). As innovation accelerates the GBA is building a comprehensive innovation ecosystem, integrating basic research, technological breakthroughs, and results transformation.
