GSF permanent venue expected to be completed in 2025

Guangzhou has announced its 2025 key construction projects, highlighting the completion of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum's permanent venue this year.The city plans to invest 381.5 billion yuan ($52.99 billion) in 998 major projects, with 905 formal projects receiving 365.7 billion yuan and 93 preparatory projects allocated 15.8 billion yuan.

The GSF venue is located in the central business district of Lingshan Island. Covering 100,000 square meters, it will feature an academic center, science museum, innovation center, scientist apartments, and other facilities.

The first phase, focusing on public facilities, includes the academic center and science museum, spanning 58,000 sq m with a total building area of 93,500 sq m across one underground and four above-ground floors.

The venue will host the Greater Bay Area Science Forum and other academic events upon completion, attracting international scientists and high-tech companies to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This initiative fosters cross-border, interdisciplinary collaboration, enhancing Nansha's regional and global influence.
