GSF 2025 set for December
The Greater Bay Area Science Forum has become a key international platform for scientists worldwide. On May 16, a strategic consultation meeting was held in Nansha, Guangzhou, to discuss plans for the 2025 forum, scheduled for December across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Now in its fourth year, the forum saw the 2024 event co-hosted by the three governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao for the first time. Themed "Leading through Open Science", it covered AI, low-altitude economy, biomedicine, and green energy, attracting over 5,000 participants. Among them were two Nobel laureates, 38 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and 35 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Key technologies like the "Explorer 6000" autonomous underwater vehicle and 25 collaborative projects were showcased. Twelve major tech projects were signed, promoting the transformation of scientific achievements into productivity.
The 2025 forum is focused on a strong integration between science and industry. It will feature international cooperation, frontier technology, green energy, and innovation sub-forums. Notable scientists, entrepreneurs, and young scholars will participate.
