New space science center opens in GBA

On July 5, the Shishan Space Technology Experience Center and the Shishan Youth Science Innovation Training Center opened in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Shishan Space Technology Experience Center covers 2,500 square meters and is the first education center in China to combine real aerospace research with immersive science education. It offers a comprehensive space exploration experience.

Visitors can embark on a fascinating space journey upon entering. The main exhibit, "Beyond Earth," features a 1:4 scale model of the Long March 5 rocket. Interactive displays allow visitors to learn about the rocket's structure and launch process, showcasing China's technological prowess.

During the opening ceremony, the center unveiled several innovative features and its annual science education plan. The mascot, "Hangshi," blends space technology with Shishan's traditional lion dance, with its orange, blue, and green colors symbolizing decoding, creativity, and exploration.
