Delegation from Ulm, Germany explores cooperation with GSF

On Jan 19, a delegation from Ulm, Germany, visited the Secretariat of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum for in-depth discussions on international cooperation, research commercialization, and industrial upgrading.

The delegation included Ulrike Hudelmaier, managing director of the Ulm Technology Incubator (TFU), and Qin Yan, co-founder of the China-German Shenzhen Deot Technology. They were joined by Mai Hui, director of the Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Guangzhou municipal bureau of science and technology, Wang Xiang, director of the Secretariat of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum, as well as representatives from the Nansha district science and technology bureau, the commerce bureau, and local enterprises.

Mai extended a warm welcome to the delegation, highlighting Guangzhou's strong talent base, economic vitality, innovation ecosystem, and livability. She encouraged Ulm to strengthen technological exchanges with Guangzhou and seize opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. Hudelmaier emphasized Ulm's strengths in cutting-edge fields such as quantum technology and proposed accelerating mutual visits between Chinese and German enterprises while establishing two-way support systems.

Wang welcomed the delegation's return and suggested leveraging the forum's annual conference to promote collaboration through initiatives like China-German technology roadshows and joint talent training programs. The meeting also featured practical discussions on corporate global expansion and investment facilitation.

This exchange marks a significant step forward in fostering sci-tech collaboration between China and Germany.
